Thing Nine - Evernote

I must admit that the introduction to Evernote on the CPD blog did not make me think I would want or need it. I've never thought to myself that I "want to be able to make comments on webpages and archive them along with your own notes", so if that is Evernote's most useful feature, I thought, it is probably not for me.

After downloading, I did find it any interesting piece of software. I like the ability to combine website snapshots and links with to-do (or other) notes; though I couldn't find a way to annotate website notes (as the CPD blog suggests is possible) other than by using tags. If anyone finds a way to do this, please let me know!

I'm not sure whether I will use Evernote much - as it's unlikely to be useful for my current role. It will be useful personally, of course, but I do already use Delicious to organise bookmarks, and I'm not sure the 'own-note' feature or the 'small note from an individual website' feature (as I like to eloquently call them) will be enough to tempt me from Delicious - though I am sure there would be a very easy way to export my bookmarks...

One other thing that puts me off from Evernote is the need to be logged into a computer in order to access my notes, as I already spend far, far too much of my day staring into a computer screen.

annotating - how ?
